Clyde Hamrick offers a number of clubs and activities for our students to participate in throughout the year. We attempt to service all interests and needs when possible. Below are some of the clubs that will be available this school year, as well as club sponsors. Please check back for updates and additional offerings throughout the school year!

P.A.L.S. (Partners in Academics, Leadership, and Service)

Sponsors: Mrs. Ade, Ms. Gruenewald, Mr. Hetz, Mrs. Helm, Mrs. Todd

P.A.L.S. is a team of 4th and 5th grade school leaders that will assist in planning and executing community and school events. Students must complete an application to participate, maintain excellent attendance, A’s and B’s on their report cards, and have no discipline referrals. Applications will be sent home within the first few weeks of school.

Sponsor: Mrs. Guzman

Girls on the Run is a team of 3rd-5th grade girls who learn self awareness, the importance of building positive relationships, and self confidence through active, engaging lessons. Curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large. Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. Important social, psychological, and physical skills and abilities are developed and reinforced throughout the program. At each season's conclusion, the girls and their running buddies complete a 5k running event which gives them a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The result—making the seemingly impossible, possible, and teaching girls that they can.

Cross Country

Sponsor: Katie Collins

Our team will be comprised of 1st through 6th grade students. There is a $30 fee to participate which includes a team shirt, two Saturday meets, and one championship meet which will also take place on Saturday. Every child runs and receives an award at each meet. Practices will be after school at Clyde Hamrick on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-4:45 beginning the week of September 5th.

Book Club:

Sponsor: Ms. Trammell and our lovely high school students!

The Hamrick Huskies Book Club meets once per week after school starting in December and continuing until the end of the school year. A reading schedule and a copy of each book is given to all of the students to complete in his or her own time. A typical meeting consists of a group of students and several discussion leaders, the high school volunteers, talking through the themes from the book, characters, literary devices, and applying the story to everyday life. The club works towards teaching the students to participate in advanced discussions, thereby preparing them for future English classes in junior high and high school, while enjoying snacks and a good book with their friends!

Yearbook Club Sponsor: Ms. Baker

The purpose of Yearbook Club is to help design and organize the school yearbook.  Students must complete an application to join, and a maximum of 8 students will be accepted. Yearbook Club will meet after school until 4:45 beginning in September and run through March. Additional information will be sent home soon!
